Aurora man gets 27 years for assaulting child

A Kane County judge sentenced an Aurora man to prison Friday for sexually assaulting a young child who had been living with him and her mother.

Kane County Circuit Judge James C. Hallock sentenced 24-year-old Orane R. Foster, whose most recent address was the 1300 block of

Andover Drive, to 27 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

On May 11, a Kane County jury convicted Foster of four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, all felonies.

According to prosecutors, between June 2015 and August 2015 Foster sexually assaulted the victim, who was younger than 12 years old.

In addition to the prison term, Foster must register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.

According to Illinois law, Foster must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence. He receives credit for 722 days served in the Kane County jail.

The case was prosecuted by Kane County Assistant State's Attorney Lori Schmidt and Nydia Molina, who are assigned to the Kane County Child Advocacy Center.
