Suspect arrested in Cary bank robbery
A 56-year-old woman whom police believe to be homeless was arrested Tuesday in connection with a bank robbery in Cary, officials say.
Police said the woman entered Cary Bank and Trust, 60 E. Main St., just before 2:10 p.m. and demanded a worker to put money in a bag on the counter, according to a news release from Cary police Tuesday. She was not armed, officials said.
The woman walked out and headed west. She was later discovered by police at First Street and Park Avenue, according to the release.
The woman was taken to the Cary Police Department, and charges are pending.
