Palatine Public Library District will host a late-afternoon gathering to make uplifting cards and assemble care kits for area people in need. Set from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 6, participants will craft the cards and create the kits for clients and guests of Journeys-The Road Home, a nonprofit agency providing shelter, social services and housing to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless. All supplies will be provided. For more information, call (847) 358-5881 or visit palatinelibrary.org.
