Lake County DOT names new planning and programming director

Kevin Carrier has been named as the new director of planning and programming for the Lake County Division of Transportation.

In his new role, he will be responsible for the planning, programming, and township supervision functions of LCDOT. He will help coordinate transportation-related activities with municipal and township partners, as well as the Lake County Forest Preserves.

Carrier, a Gurnee native, also will lead the team of LCDOT project managers responsible for managing the major capital improvement projects from planning, through design and on to construction.

Carrier began working for LCDOT as a design engineer in 2014. He started his civil engineering career at McClure Engineering in Waukegan, and has a degree in math and physics from Augustana College, and a degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois.

"Not only does Kevin bring a wealth of engineering knowledge and expertise to the table, but he also has the ability to connect with people to create great partnerships. He is solution focused, and I'm excited to see him transition into a leadership role for LCDOT," said Paula Trigg, director of the Lake County Division of Transportation.
