Free fishing days kick off Friday

A free fishing days celebration will be held from June 16-19 to coincide with Father's Day weekend, according to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

For those four days, anglers can fish in waters wholly or in part within the jurisdiction of the state, including the Illinois portion of Lake Michigan, without buying a sport fishing license, salmon stamp or inland trout stamp.
