Part of Route 59 closed after oil spill

A section of Route 59 in Barrington Hills will be closed through Wednesday morning after an oil spill caused slick conditions on the pavement, Illinois Department of Transportation officials said Tuesday.

The closure is north of Dundee Road and south of Barrington Road; detours are posted.

An earlier crash involving a truck caused the oil spill.

Drivers should expect delays and look out for flaggers in work zones.
