Community gardens to be installed at Windsor School

Volunteers spent Friday afternoon assembling the framework for community garden beds that will be installed next to Windsor Elementary School in Arlington Heights.

Some 30 volunteers from the community helped put the wood frames together inside the Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 maintenance garage that is next to the school. They worked inside because of the rainy weather.

District officials say once installed, different plots in the garden will be open to anyone in the Windsor community that wants to garden. The project is being funded by the Arlington Teachers' Association, the master gardeners of Arlington Heights and various anonymous donations.
