Mundelein hires new assistant village administrator

Mundelein has hired an assistant village administrator to replace the retiring Mike Flynn.

Village Administrator John Lobaito announced the hiring of Peter Vadopalas, which became effective Monday. Vadopalas will handle numerous administrative and managerial responsibilities.

"For the past 29 years, Mike Flynn has assumed this role and his range and scope of responsibilities requires a candidate with a broad view and understanding of municipal government," Lobaito said. "We believe that Peter brings these skills to us and he is a good fit for our team." Vadopalas previously was assistant to the village manager of Skokie. Flynn's retirement is effective May 31. Vadopalas will work closely with Flynn until that time.
