June 9: Ride to Remember 3, at a new location this year to support Alzheimer's Association. Starting at Fox River Harley-Davidson, 131 Randall Road, St. Charles; ending at Wild Fire Harley-Davidson, 120 North Ave., Villa Park. Preregistration by May 25, $30 driver, $15 passenger. June 23: Sixth annual Oasis Bike Run to benefit the Grayslake Oasis Youth Center. Breakfast, 9-10 a.m. at The Oasis, 151 Hawley St. Grayslake. $35 riders. July 29: Fourth annual Ride for Hope, for ovarian cancer awareness. Our mission is to spread awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and to help improve the quality of life for women battling this silent disease. Fox River Harley-Davidson, 131 Randall Road, St. Charles. Preregistration, $25 per rider, $25 per passenger, $25 party only. T-shirt included (first 200). 10:15 a.m. bike blessing; 10:30 a.m. kickstands up. Ride to party at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Schaumburg. Live music by Mellencougar. BBQ. July 29: Ride to Remember, former Area Four Detective Headquarters, 3151 W. Harrison St. (Harrison and Kedzie Avenue), west parking lot, Chicago. Aug. 11: Second annual Chris Patterson Memorial Foundation Motorcycle Ride. Batavia VFW, 645 S River St. Registration, $25 rider, $20 passenger, 8 a.m. Kickstands up, 10:30 a.m. Specialist Christopher Patterson, a 2009 graduate of West Aurora High School, gave his life in service to our country while serving with the Indiana National Guard in Afghanistan, Jan. 6, 2012. The ride will be traveling Patterson's last ride. This will be an approximately 50-mile ride traveling past the funeral home on Route 31, through his hometown, North Aurora, to West Aurora High School, where the Blackhawk Marching Band will play "Roll On" as the ride passes. Chris had a great love of the performing arts. He was an actor, a singer and a musician performing with various groups. The Chris Patterson Memorial Foundation will split proceeds evenly between the Freedom Farm for Vets in Wadsworth and the Performing Arts at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Batavia. Breakfast will be provided by the VFW and barbecue lunch after the ride is available for purchase. Star Touring and Riding, Elgin Chapter 488, meets at BBK Motorsports, 227 DuPage St., Elgin, on the first Saturday of every month at 9 a.m. There is a ride after every meeting in April through November, with additional rides scheduled on non-meeting days.
