New block of 'Hamilton' tickets on sale Tuesday

Broadway in Chicago announced a 20-week extension for "Hamilton" that will likely keep Lin-Manuel Miranda's blockbuster musical in Chicago through Jan. 20, 2019.

The new block of tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the CIBC Theatre box office at 18 W. Monroe St., Chicago. Tickets are also available by phone at (800) 775-2000 or online at broadwayinchicago.com.

There is a maximum purchase limit of 12 tickets per household for performances running Sept. 4 through Jan. 20, 2019. Tickets range from $75 to $205. The online lottery continues for $10 tickets for all performances. A total of 44 seats are available at that special rate.

Based on Ron Chernow's biography "Hamilton," Miranda's Tony Award-winning, hip-hop, bio-musical tells the story of West Indies immigrant Alexander Hamilton, a Revolutionary War veteran and Founding Father who served as the nation's first treasury secretary.
