Winter Smoke

Joe's Live and Bub City join up to host Illinois BBQ Alliance's 6th Annual Winter Smoke. Enjoy all-you-can-eat barbecue, drinks and live music from Borrowed Time. Tickets cost $50. The Big Braise is coming to Mon Ami Gabi Thursday through Wednesday, Feb. 15-21. New winter braises include braised lamb with white bean purée, braised beef short rib with pommes purée and braised pork with celery root and apple purée for $32.95.

Can't get to France? Mon Ami Gabi's A Night In Paris might be the next best thing. The five-course meal from executive chef Bruce Williams includes a trio of shellfish gratins, pan-seared skate grenobloise, rustic duck pie, herb-roasted leg of lamb and apple tarte Tatin paired with boutique French wines. Big Bad Beer Night times 2

The inaugural Big Bad Beer Eve and Big Bad Beer Night are back for round two this week, but at different locations: Beerhead Elmhurst and The Beer Market Schaumburg. The Eve event, a private food and beer tasting featuring a flight of three barrel-aged beers and three small plates, starts at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, and the Night takes place all day Thursday, Feb. 22, at both locations. Tickets cost $29 for the Eve party.
