How NCH Wellness Center's MedFit can help you get fit

Studies show people gain an average of eight pounds over the holidays. The NCH Wellness Center has an answer to that problem - the MedFit program. For just $60 and 60 days, you can enroll to adopt a healthier lifestyle and become more active in time for the New Year. The program is accepting new members ages 14 years and older.

Participants receive a 60-day guided exercise program customized to meet their specific fitness goals along with $695 of free fitness services. The MedFit program includes a full Wellness Center membership, fitness assessment, personal training session, nutrition consult, monthly wellness lecture, unlimited group exercise classes, access to the indoor aquatics center, massage session, Pilates session, fitness reassessment and ongoing support.

Since starting MedFit in December 2016, the program has helped over 1,000 people become more active and create healthy lifestyle habits.

"I found that the MedFit program is a tool to be able to help my patients get into the Wellness Center, and use the facilities there so that their goals of lower blood sugar, lower blood pressure, more fitness, improve body weight can be reached more efficiently," said Benjamin Hasan, M.D., NCH Medical Group Family and Sports Medicine physician.

Over the past year MedFit members have lost a total of:

• 1,050 pounds

• 412 percent body fat

• 265 inches
