National Sandwich Month at Gene & Georgetti
August is National Sandwich Month, so there's about a week left to get in on Gene & Georgetti's Classic Pairs lunch special. Available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, options include a crabcake sandwich (crabcake with mixed greens, tomato and rémoulade served on a kaiser roll for $13.75), prime rib sandwich (hand-sliced prime rib served on a pretzel bun for $15.75) or half BLT sandwich (bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on toasted bread for $10.50) paired with minestrone, spinach tortellini or soup of the day or the signature house salad. Tokio Pub's Luau Dinner
Take a trip to Hawaii, or rather Tokio Pub, when the restaurant hosts a four-course luau dinner Monday, Aug. 28. Start off with one of two cold brews (Big Wave Golden Ale and Longboard Lager) from Kona Brewing Company or a specialty Hawaiian cocktail such as a Mai Tai, Blue Hawaiian or Crushed Piña Colada. The taste of the islands includes Tuna Poke Taco, Huli Huli Chicken Skewers, Kalua Pua'a (Kalua Pig, hoisin, charred green onion, green papaya slaw) and Tiki-Rific Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Fireworks from the water
Watch the Wednesday fireworks show from Lake Michigan while dining aboard the Odyssey. Available select Wednesdays, the evening includes a prix fixe dinner menu, views of the skyline and fireworks, as well as curated music from the onboard DJ. Board at 6 p.m. and cruise from 7 to 10 p.m. Menu highlights include: a seafood tower of Maine lobster, Alaskan King crab, jumbo shrimp and bay scallop ceviche; jumbo lump crabcakes; oven-baked Atlantic salmon filet; maple- and mustard-glazed chicken breast; braised beef short rib; Greek zucchini fritters; and a choice of dessert.
