Dining events: Chuy's Tex-Mex opens first Illinois location in Warrenville

Chuy's now open in Warrenville

Austin-based restaurant chain Chuy's Tex-Mex brings its signature freshness to its first Illinois location with the restaurant's opening this week in Warrenville. Tortillas are made fresh each morning, and the chicken is roasted all day and hand-shredded to fill "big as yo face" burritos and chika-chika boom-boom enchiladas. From 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays, enjoy drink specials and make-your-own nachos from a nacho buffet in the back of a 1950s Cadillac. Try the New Mexican martini, made with tequila infused with roasted green chilies for 24 hours, hand-shaken and served with signature olives hand-stuffed daily with fresh jalapeƱos. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Chuy's Tex-Mex is at 28250 Diehl Road, Warrenville. (630) 393-0911 or chuys.com.

Breakfast anyone?

Last week's restaurant review of Mr. A's in Roselle said the spot relocated a year ago from a decades-long presence in Arlington Heights. To clarify, the Arlington Heights spot - called Mr. Allison's - was sold to a family member. Mr. Allison's has been in the same location, at 1711 E. Central Road, since 1971.
