Illinois company makes Condor Garage Dolly

If your garage looks like mine, there is way too much stuff in it - and navigating around everything can be a real pain. Two cars, two motorcycles, two bicycles, a freezer, snowblower, lawn chairs, garden tools, overstuffed shelving units and just miscellaneous clutter.

Placing the motorcycles where you want them, out of the way so you can get the cars in and out easily, can be a real pain in the neck. You all know what it's like to have to push and pull your bike back and forth (sometimes only a few inches at a time) to finally get it close to where you want it. And yes, I once dropped mine and broke a foot peg and mirror off (and that was the lightweight Sportbike). Doing that dance with a 900-pound bagger is a lot more work.

But Condor Products, best known for making the finest wheel chocks in the industry, has an answer: The Garage Dolly. This versatile unit makes placing any motorcycle exactly where you want it in your garage simple and easy. Just ride or push your bike onto the dolly until the front wheel locks securely into the unit. The bike stands upright without using the kick stand. Release the four nonskid wheel brakes on the dolly and you can now swivel and roll your bike into the exact tight space you want it.

The dolly has large, sturdy, 4-inch wheels, so it rolls easily, even over cracks and pitted floors. The aluminum and steel unit has an adjustable cradle and front stop, just like their famous Pit Stop Wheel Chock, so it handles every type of motorcycle from dirt bikes to big heavy baggers. Condor also sells an optional Trailer Adapter Kit, so you can now secure the dolly to the floor of your trailer when you want to haul your bike to a riding destination.

Another option is its Height Assist Footrest brackets that will aid short legged riders, like myself, to get additional leverage when removing the bike from the dolly. It will also aid those folks who ride those tall seat-height Adventure Touring bikes.

And for those who own long wheelbase custom motorcycles with stretched front ends, there is the Garage Dolly Extension, which extends the dolly from 90 inches to 108 inches. You can even order a special Chopper Chock Cradle to accommodate the new tall-front-wheel customs that are so popular now. The unit also can be folded for easy storage.

According to Condor's owner, Teffy Chamoun: "We didn't invent the motorcycle dolly, we just perfected it. In fact, about 40 percent of our customers threw out a cheap Asian product that didn't work, and bought our Garage Dolly. And we're about to bring out a dolly that will work for all trikes, which are really hard to move around in a garage."

So, if you want to make your life easier, and make more room in your garage, the Condor Garage Dolly is the answer. All Condor products are made in America, in our own backyard near DeKalb. The Garage Dolly sells for $464 plus shipping. Visit Condor's website to watch the video at www.condor-lift.com or call (800) 461-1344 to order.
