Music notes: Revisit the '90s with Gin Blossoms, Blues Traveler

Anywhere you go ...

Even though they had been kicking around on local stages for nearly five years, it took nearly a year for the Gin Blossoms' 1992 single “Hey Jealousy” to make the charts. But once it did, the band exploded, following it up with a steady string of hits, including “Mrs. Rita,” “Found Out About You,” “Until I Fall Away,” “Follow You Down” and “Til I Hear It from You,” ensuring that almost every time you flipped on MTV, you'd get a chance to catch the gang (assuming you didn't stumble into a “Real World” or “Beavis and Butthead” marathon). The lineup has changed (tragically in one case), but they are still playing their hits. The Gin Blossoms joins Blues Traveler for a night of '90s nostalgia at Waukegan's Genesee Theatre, 203 N. Genesee St., Waukegan. $39.50-$75. (847) 263-6300 or geneseetheatre.com. 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27
