DuPage a nice place because of GOP

The way to deal with political corruption is to prosecute the criminals and put them in prison. But, that is not what Bob Peickert, chairman of the Democrat Party in DuPage County, wants.

No, he wants "campaign finance reform." In other words, just accepting a lot of money or spending a lot of personal money constitutes a presumption of guilt that must be expiated before any crime has even been contemplated let alone committed. In my opinion, this is not the American way. If he knows of any Republican official who has broken the law, he should file a complaint with the federal prosecutor, Pat Fitzgerald.

Chairman Bob seems to have a special problem with Republicans in DuPage. He objects to their "one-party rule." Since when does a Democrat object to one-party rule? It would make sense if DuPage County were run by Republicans as Chicago is run by Democrats. But DuPage County is a nice place to live in, because of the Republicans. It is the place to which Democrats flee from Chicago. The kids in DuPage do not kill each other in the streets the way the kids in Democrat-run Chicago do. A thousand public officials in DuPage have not been put in prison as they have in Chicago because of Operation Silver Shovel.

Peickert further insinuates that the Daily Herald is a Republican newspaper because it has not harped on the subject enough to his liking. I have to remind Chairman Bob that this newspaper endorsed Democrat Barack Obama for president as well as played cheerleader for numerous other Democrat candidates and agenda items.

Chairman Bob's argument does not make any sense. But, for Democrats, arguments do not have to make any sense.
