Trump's leadership key to Warp Speed

In his letter of July 24, Gerald Gagnon claimed wrongly that Trump had nothing to do with the creation of the Warp Speed program which greatly accelerated the production and distribution of the COVID-19 Vaccine.

Actually, Trump thought of the main components of Warp Speed. During one of the Trump Task Force presentations, Dr. Fauci stated that no vaccine could be produced very quickly and presented a long sequence of functions which would take from about two to four years to complete. At that point, Trump stepped forward and said that several of these functions - in particular, the FDA testing and the production of the COVID-19 Vaccine - could be done simultaneously and thereby enormously speed up the ultimate provision of the vaccine.

This was a classic example of a businessman improving upon the efforts of a scientist or doctor. Dr. Fauci lacked the business acumen of Trump.

Soon thereafter Trump started the implementation of his simultaneous methodology which he called "Warp Speed." This led to the rapid provision of the vaccine which has saved thousands of American lives as well as thousands more worldwide.
