Trump's assault on the environment

The Trump Administration's attacks on the environment are unprecedented. To date, they have attempted to roll back more than 90 rules and regulations to favor industry, especially mineral and oil and gas extraction at the expense of human health and the environment.

These have included weakening the National Environmental Policy Act, stripping streams and wetlands from Federal Protection, pulling out of the Paris Climate accords, shrinking National Monuments, rolling back the Clean Power Plan, changing how the Endangered Species Act is applied, and weakening rules on methane emissions.

With this administration's disdain for science, the environment and apparently, human health, and the president's routine obsession with the dissemination of false information and conspiracy theories, Scientific American, for the first time in its 175-year history has endorsed a Presidential candidate: Joe Biden.
