Naperville Park District seeks input on park project

For the past several months, the Naperville Park District has reached out to the community to ask for ideas and opinions about the future of our largest undeveloped park site, Southwest Community Park.

This outreach included public meetings March 1 and April 25, several meetings with stakeholders, two online surveys and ongoing email communication.

We received more than 2,000 responses in total.

I want to thank everyone who has attended a meeting, viewed the information online, responded to the survey or sent an email related to Southwest Community Park.

We appreciate your willingness to take time to learn about the project and express your opinions.

We want the plan to reflect the needs and priorities of the community.

If you have a concern or want to express your opinion about the plan, you may email me at rmcgury@napervilleparks.org at any time.

We want to hear from all sides and maintain 100 percent transparency and openness in this process.

The next step for the park district is to refine the draft site master plan based on resident input and to bring the plan to the board of commissioners for discussion at a special board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
