Rauner is last hope against Madigan

The upcoming gubernatorial Republican primary in Illinois gives us a choice. We can choose the a path to victory, or certain defeat. Renominating and reelecting Gov. Rauner assures we have a voice in Illinois government. Nominating Ives assures a return to the minority. Consider:

Rauner has received the endorsements of most Republican townships, elected officials and newspaper editorial boards. Rauner has vetoed out-of-balance budgets, the tax hike, anti-worker freedom bills and most recently the unnecessary, burdensome "do something" gun dealer licensing bill. Rauner has signed legislation providing jobs to hard-hit areas downstate, reduce business licensing fees, creating a school choice scholarship program, and criminal justice reforms. His executive orders created the nationally recognized Illinois Department of Technology and got Janus V. AFSCME to the Supreme Court, which may make our entire nation a right-to-work nation. He has fought the Madigan Machine tooth and nail.

In contrast, Ives has passed five bills in her time with the General Assembly. Most of her national recognition has been for disparaging remarks against the LGBTQ community, with the most recent being her infamous "Thank you" ad denounced even by her own supporters.

Daniel Biss's running mate, state Rep. Litesa Wallace, went viral after responding to one of Ives' comments on the House floor. In a year where Democrats are winning seats where Trump won by double digits, we cannot afford to nominate someone who would likely alienate us even further.

Rauner was right when he said Ives is Madigan's favorite Republican. If she is nominated, Madigan knows he will pick our next governor. I implore my fellow Republicans to vote for Rauner so we can continue the fight against the Madigan machine.
