Time for real change

With a week to go before the March primary election, it seems apropos to highlight the most striking differences in the candidates. On one side you have seven guys from Chicago all singing the same tune.

Admittedly, one of those seven is the current governor, who is a donkey in elephants clothing. His biggest accomplishments are signing a law making Illinois a "sanctuary state" and downloading the Chicago bankrupt teachers pension onto the bankrupt Illinois state pension fund. What a legacy.

Running against this "band of seven" is the only person who is a Republican, Jeanne Ives. I have met with and spoken to both Bruce Rauner and Jeanne Ives over the years. When push comes to shove, Jeanne Ives is the only one who says what she will do, and do it.

She is a West Point graduate and officer and has the discipline and family values to begin to move this state back in the right direction.

Illinois is hemorrhaging residents and businesses while the spending and debt continue to escalate. The Daily Herald recently noted that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome defines stupidity. I couldn't agree more.
