A record in trenches

Daniel Biss is the real thing. He is as smart as a whip and actually has a legislative track record of getting progressive things done. That makes the difference when you stack him up against his opponents. The other candidates have never been in the trenches to deal with trying to come up with solutions to real issues.

A focal point for Daniel is a fair progressive income tax as a way forward. He knows it will allow the billionaires and millionaires to pay their fair share, allow the state to better fund our schools, and pay the pensions, and in turn help to really bring down our real estate taxes. It also defines his commitment to aspirational goals on health care and education.

He understands that it is worth fighting for what needs to be done, knowing that you have to reach even if it means that you have to take incremental steps to make progress. Daniel unlike others, does not have baggage, since he is an honest straight shooter who has never tried or even thought about gaming the system, nor disparaged minorities or others who he needs to work with, nor talked of wheeling and dealing with power brokers to advance himself nor tried to buy advancement.

People believe in Daniel because of his ideas. They see him as honest and trustworthy, bright and hardworking, and as one who understands the challenges facing regular families and who will fight for real change.

You may not agree with Daniel on every issue, but it is clear he is the best and the brightest in the field and the type of leader we need at the helm who can put us on a new course. It is significant that recent polls show him beating Gov. Rauner by greater margins than any of his opponents.
