A Twilight Zone fantasy
I have a fantasy about our current president - a Rod Serling fantasy (for those who remember Serling, anyway). Here's how I think he'd have written the screenplay for a "Twilight Zone" episode: The president sleeps peacefully in the White House. He awakens from a dream - in a cold sweat. His skin is black. He is living in a poor African country, which has recently been wracked by natural disaster. He has no money. He has no clothing, other than the rags on his back. He is living literally hand-to-mouth; he does not know where his next meal will come from. He has no cellphone, no Twitter account, no method of communication with the outside world.
His universe has crumbled. He has no cadre of sycophantic apologists to surround and soothe him. His eyes dart everywhere. He is as frightened as he has ever been. He slowly but surely descends into darkness - and madness. Fade to black."Sad."
