Rapper doesn't just talk about injustice

Recently, Chance the Rapper spoke at a city council meeting against the proposed Chicago Police Academy. He was speaking in support of increased funding for Chicago Public Schools. Not only do I agree with Chance's argument, but I am in full support of the way in which he decided to impact this issue.

I believe that more high-profile celebrities should follow his lead. Recently, we have seen celebrities and athletes speak out against injustices they see in society, and although some have tried to make a change, I don't believe that enough has been done.

Chance has earned a great deal of respect from the city and his followers for his work, from speaking to Gov. Bruce Rauner to donating $1 million and raising $2.2 million for Chicago Public Schools. If celebrities, or anyone for that matter, believes strongly in a cause, they must begin to make a change themselves.

Chance has worked tirelessly to solve these injustices, while others merely discuss their anger.
