Madigan tactics result in income tax hike

What is Mr. Madigan and the Democrats answer to Illinois financial problems? Easy! Let's find a way to additionally tax the people of Illinois. After all, nobody's really checking how the Democratic Party has unwisely spent all of the tax dollars they have received from the people of this state over many years. So let's do it again.

Only this time let's not make it a temporary income tax but instead a permanent one.

Mr. Madigan took that opportunity by delaying the budget process as much as possible, blaming it on Governor Rauner and then provided his solution by ramming another tax increase through. There is no doubt in my mind this was his plan from the beginning. Delay as long as possible, place many residents, social services, universities, children and poor people in dire straits and wear down some Republicans.

Governor Rauner appealed to our Republican representatives to hold fast to reducing the burden of property taxes on Illinois residents. Yes, he was unflinching in his demands for greater accountability and unblinkingly for tax relief.

Regrettably, there were some deserters who defected instead of sticking to their guns. Those Republicans said they became weary of the process, the stalemate and the lack of progress.

I also am sure the voters at election time will always remember their irresponsible actions to increase our tax burden.

And yes, even the newspapers and media jumped on board since the budget had become tiring and old news and they wanted to move on to something else. I hope they will remember their support when the "new revenue" money will again be unwisely spent on the Democrats' pet projects that have been promised by Mr. Madigan for their votes.

Congratulations, Mr. Madigan, for again hurting the people of this state.
