GOP plan: Let needy, disabled suffer
What is truly sad - no, tragic - is that the people who vote for Republicans in the House and Senate approve of their party's cuts in health care, Medicaid, food stamps, Meals on Wheels and the like. What it tells those desperately in need of those programs is "Too bad. You don't like it? Suffer." Thank you, Sen. McConnell, Rep. Ryan and President Trump.
I don't know if "the base," those who voted them in, will recognize the effects their votes will have. I hope we won't have to wait until it affects them. But it may; wait until they start on Medicare. After that, Social Security will be their next target.
