Pritzker, Kennedy should challenge Madigan

As we keep hearing that Speaker of the House Madigan and Gov. Rauner are causing the budget stalemate, it is important to remember that even when we had a Democratic governor, we did not have a balanced budget. It seems that the lack of a balanced budget then is because Gov. Quinn had the courage to buck Michael Madigan, much like Gov. Rauner.

Now come our Democrat white knights Pritzker and Kennedy. Before they spend the expected millions (after all, it seems, that they are being brought into this race because they have the money and family name to go against Rauner).

In the end, it will be more helpful to the electorate for one of them to run for Madigan's seat, if they really want to help us end this budget stalemate or failing that, to inform us how they plan on handling the budget stalemate. Are they going to join Madigan or have their own plan which might defy Madigan?
