iHerb to open first Illinois distribution center in Elgin

CBRE's Chicago office recently represented iHerb.com in a 257,344-square-foot lease at 2640 Auto Mall Drive in Elgin.

Jack Brennan and John Hamilton of CBRE represented iHerb, Inc. in the transaction. Dominic Carbonari and Frank Griffin of JLL represented the owners, Zilber Property Group.

iHerb sells nutritional supplements and vitamins, personal care, baby care, and other healthy products both in the United States, as well as to 150+ countries worldwide. The firm offers 1,200+ brands and 35,000+ brand name products on its website and orders are delivered directly to consumers.

This is the retailer's first location in Illinois. iHerb currently has distribution and fulfillment centers in California, Kentucky and Pennsylvania as well as offices located in Pasadena, Irvine and Riverside, California in the near term.

The property, Zilber Industrial I, has immediate access to I-90 and offers one-day delivery to 85.5 million people, 27 percent of the U.S. population.

"The Chicago area made perfect sense for iHerb's next distribution and fulfillment location as the firm continues to rapidly expand its customer base," said CBRE's Brennan. "This location will allow iHerb to reach a broad portion of the U.S. with fast delivery times and excellent customer service, further demonstrating the continued importance of the Chicago area as one of the country's top logistics hubs."
