Tax incentive approved for Wheeling sauna manufacturer adding 38 jobs

Accurate Industries, a steam environment and sauna manufacturer in Wheeling, has received a property tax incentive as part of an expansion adding 38 new jobs, according to Cook County.

The county approved a 6b property tax incentive last week for the company, which is a division of Bathing Brands Inc. The company outgrew its 15,040-square-foot facility at 441 Carpenter Ave. and has relocated to a 56,810-square-foot space at 511 Glenn Ave. That building was previously occupied by Hawk Electronics, which vacated the building in September 2016.

A 6b property tax incentive lasts 12 years. It assesses properties at 10 percent of market value for 10 years, 15 percent in the 11th year and 20 percent in the 12th year. The standard assessment for industrial property is 25 percent.

Accurate Industries designs, builds and distributes its products for health clubs, hotels, spas and homeowners.

The company previously had 35 full-time employees.
