Woodstock bed and breakfast in 'Groundhog Day' movie sold

The B&B in Woodstock made famous in the movie “Groundhog Day” where Bill Murray woke every morning to relive the day over and over has been sold.

The home at 344 Fremont St. has reopened as the Cherry Tree In B & B. Lori and George Miarecki are the new owners of the establishment that they purchased for $695,000.

Most of the movie was filmed in the Woodstock, about 60 miles northwest of Chicago. 2018 marks the 25th anniversary of the film's release.

Every year as part of Woodstock's Groundhog Day festivities there are free showings of the movie and a walking tour of some of the popular sites in the movie. This year visitors on the walking tour will be invited inside to see the B & B and warm up with hot cider and hot chocolate.
