Providing the vision for your child's future

Did you know that parents are the Number 1 influence on their child's career choice?

Not a surprise when you think about it. You have given them every advantage - private music, tutors and sports camps and more to help them excel. Now, as you help them prepare for their future, have you considered giving them a Career Advantage?

At Career Vision, we advocate a "parent as leader" philosophy. Does that mean parents need to have all the answers?

No. It means that you are in a great position to help your child choose a career direction and college major.

As the leader guiding your student, you know that getting into college is not a career choice! And that getting into the right college and major are important for a workplace that demands credentials and experience.

The Career Readiness program highlights what a parent leader needs to know. Think about a big project - volunteer or work - that you worked on or led.

What did you need to do make it happen?

• Have a vision

• Align goals and expectations

• Know your resources

• Guide and encourage necessary actions

• Be clear about time and cost constraints

Where do you start? Your student is unique. The first step in effective career exploration and planning is to discover their strengths! Learning how their aptitudes set the stage for different career choices and majors provides you with a unique short cut to success and satisfaction - and eliminates the trial and error trends that waste time and money in college today. Different aptitude patterns support the development of different skills, tasks, and careers. Starting with an understanding of their strengths builds confidence for both you and your student as you invest time and resources into schooling.

Unfortunately, aptitude tests take more time to administer and require an evaluation from a professional career consultant. They are not typically offered in school settings. Career Vision career experts use The Ball Aptitude Battery developed by The Ball Foundation. This science and expertise shared during an in-depth consultation produces an aptitude profile that is more complex, yielding a richer experience for the student.

Career Vision is a rare resource right in your community that has been sharing our expertise to provide you with a strategic advantage for 30 years. High School is the ideal time to begin planning for life after high school. Join our families who see our programs as a rite of passage they share with their child as they transition from high school. Give your student the gift that will last a lifetime. Reveal their strengths, show them where their talents will best used and enjoyed.

Be the parent with a vision for your child's future.
