Grains higher, livestock mixed

CHICAGO (AP) - Grain futures were higher Friday in early trading on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for Dec. delivery rose 1.40 cent at $5.1440 a bushel; Dec. corn gained 8.60 cents at $3.70 a bushel; Dec. oats was up 2.20 cents at $2.8540 a bushel while Nov. soybeans advanced 9 cents at 8.6220 a bushel.

Beef was mixed and pork was lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Oct. live cattle was off .12 cent at $1.1238 a pound; Oct. feeder cattle fell 1.20 cents at $1.5568 a pound; Oct. lean hogs rose .33 cent at .6888 a pound.
