Heat promote Adam Simon, who will oversee all scouting
MIAMI (AP) - The Miami Heat have promoted Adam Simon to vice president of player personnel, where he will now oversee all aspects of the team's scouting operation.
Simon will be replacing Chet Kammerer, who asked for a reduced role after 22 years with the franchise. Kammerer will remain as a scout and advisor to Heat President Pat Riley, general manager Andy Elisburg and coach Erik Spoelstra.
Simon will oversee scouting at the pro, college, G League and international levels.
He will remain in his other roles with the franchise, including general manager of the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce. He was the 2015-16 G League Executive of the Year after the Skyforce set a league record with 40 regular-season victories and went on to capture the playoff championship.
