Tomlin out of Indians' rotation, Plutko to take his place

CHICAGO (AP) - Struggling right-hander Josh Tomlin is out of the Cleveland Indians' rotation.

Tomlin says he "definitely wasn't surprised" by the move to the bullpen. He was 0-4 with a 7.84 ERA through six starts and seven appearances prior to Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs.

With Tomlin in the bullpen, the Indians plan to call up right-hander Adam Plutko from Triple-A Columbus to start Wednesday. Plutko picked up his first major league win about three weeks ago, pitching into the eighth inning against Toronto as the 26th man for a doubleheader.
