Indiana man gets 90-year sentence in killing of father of 6

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - A Muncie man has been sentenced to 90 years in prison for the fatal shooting of an acquaintance who was a father of six.

Twenty-five-year-old Alonzo Williams was sentenced Tuesday on murder and criminal confinement convictions in Jeffrey Brown's February 2017 killing.

The Star Press reports that the 39-year-old Brown was moved with his hands tied behind his back from another location to a Muncie field where he was shot 10 times.

Delaware Circuit Court Judge Thomas Cannon Jr. called the killing a crime that "was at its very core an execution."

Brown's widow provided testimony about the devastating impact his slaying had on their family, including Brown's six children.

Williams' co-defendant, Jeremy Holland, is set to stand trial June 25 on murder and confinement charges in the slaying.
