Missing central Indiana woman likely died from hypothermia

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a central Indiana woman reported missing likely died from hypothermia after falling in a construction area about a half-mile from her home.

The Madison County coroner says 56-year-old Lynette Jackson of Anderson wasn't badly injured in the fall, but might not about been able to get up because she was confused and disoriented. The (Anderson) Herald-Bulletin reports Jackson's body was found Thursday evening. She was reported missing Monday.

Coroner Marian Dunnichay says the weather was cold enough for hypothermia to set in, even though Jackson was wearing several layers of clothing.

Laura Irvin says her older sister was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2009 and was last seen on Saturday by a friend who helped her with grocery shopping.
