Longtime Clemson sports spokesman Bourret retiring

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Longtime Clemson football communications director Tim Bourret is retiring this summer after nearly 40 years involved in Tigers sports.

Bourret said Friday he will leave his position July 1.

Bourret has also served as radio analyst for Clemson men's basketball.

Bourret joined Clemson athletics as assistant sports information director in 1978. He followed mentor Bob Bradley as the department's chief spokesman for 24 years. He's worked primarily with the football team the last several years, with Clemson coach Dabo Swinney regularly referring to Bourret as "Clemson Google.".

Bourret was inducted in the CoSIDA Hall of Fame last summer. He will remain involved with the athletic department in a part-time capacity
