Washington State women's basketball coach on medical leave

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Washington State women's basketball coach June Daugherty is taking an indefinite medical leave of absence.
The school announced that Daugherty's husband, associate head coach Mike Daugherty, will serve as acting coach until she returns.
June Daugherty says she needs time to rest and heal from a recent medical procedure. Other details were not released.
Daugherty is in her 11th season as Washington State's head coach. She missed three games earlier this season, with Mike Daugherty taking charge.
The Cougars are 9-11 overall this season.
