Marshall to play South Carolina, North Carolina State
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Marshall will play two Power 5 football opponents in 2018, including a Sept. 15 road matchup with South Carolina and a Sept. 22 home game with North Carolina State.
Conference USA released the Thundering Herd's schedule Tuesday.
North Carolina State will be the third major-conference opponent to play at Marshall in four seasons. Marshall played Purdue in 2015 and Louisville in 2016.
Marshall opens the 2018 season Sept. 1 at Miami (Ohio) and has its home opener Sept. 8 against Eastern Kentucky.
Other home games for the Thundering Herd include Middle Tennessee on Oct. 6, Florida Atlantic on Oct. 20, Charlotte on Nov. 10 and Texas-San Antonio on Nov. 17.
Marshall also has road games at Western Kentucky on Sept. 29, Old Dominion on Oct. 13, Southern Miss on Nov. 3 and Florida International on Nov. 24.
