Provo scores 20 points in Utah women's 74-65 win

SEATTLE (AP) - Daneesha Provo scored 20 points and Utah defeated Washington 74-65 on Friday night.

Provo was 8-of-11 shooting and the Utes (11-3, 2-1 Pac-12) shot 53 percent in winning for the fourth time in five games after coming off a two-point loss to Arizona State. Erika Bean added 10 points.

Amber Melgoza scored 21 points, going 10 of 11 at the free-throw line but just 5 of 15 from the field with the Huskies (6-8, 0-3) shooting only 36 percent. Jenna Moser added 16 points and Kierra Collier 12.

Utah took off to a 31-16 lead in the first quarter, grabbing the lead for good when Kiana Moore snapped a tie with a jumper at the 4:12 mark to start a 17-2 run to end the period.

The lead reached 24 points in the second quarter and remained in double figures until Huskies cut it to nine with 21 seconds left.
