Indiana man to be charged in attack on police officer
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities plan to charge a man next week with battery for allegedly attacking a Terre Haute police officer.
A Vigo County judge found probable cause Wednesday to hold 27-year-old Michael Morson following his arrest on preliminary charges of battery on police and resisting arrest.
The Tribune-Star reports formal charges are expected to be filed Monday against Morson, who remains jailed with his bail set at $35,000.
Authorities say an officer found Morson and another man unconscious Tuesday on the stairs of a residence and ordered them to remain seated.
But police said Morson and the other man charged Officer Adam Noel and shoved him into a door, injuring him.
Morson was arrested by the officer after a passerby helped the officer. The other man fled the scene.
