No charges in UK cycling doping case over lack of records

LONDON (AP) - Britain's anti-doping agency says it won't bring any charges over the medical package dispatched to star Team Sky rider Bradley Wiggins after the investigation was hampered by the lack of accurate records held by cycling authorities.

Details of the package hand delivered from England to the 2011 Dauphine Libere race in France by a British Cycling employee only emerged in the Daily Mail newspaper last year.

It took months for Team Sky to disclose the contents of the package, eventually telling a parliamentary hearing in London it contained a legal decongestant.

U.K. Anti-Doping was investigating whether the product was in fact a banned corticosteroid. Now UKAD says the "lack of contemporaneous evidence" meant it was "unable to definitively confirm the contents."
