Hildebrand sends Central Arkansas past Houston Baptist 27-7

HOUSTON (AP) - Hayden Hildebrand threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns and Central Arkansas pulled away to beat Houston Baptist 27-7 on Saturday night.

Houston Baptist took its only lead after an 11-play, 85-yard drive that ended with B.J. Kelly's 7-yard touchdown run. Using a short field after a 24-yard kickoff, Hildebrand marched Central Arkansas (4-1, 3-0 Southland) 53 yards and complete a 26-yard touchdown to Roman Gordan to even the score.

The Bears' defense held Houston Baptist (1-4, 0-3) to three-and-out and Hildebrand led a 77-yard drive culminating in a 39-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Myers.

Gordon had five receptions for 140 yards and the Bears outgained Houston Baptist 407 to 281.

Bailey Zappe was 30-for-45 passing for 240 yards but was intercepted three times.
