Galaxy lose defender Daniel Steres to back injury

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Los Angeles Galaxy will be without defender Daniel Steres for up to two months after he suffered a stress fracture in his lower back.

The Galaxy announced Tuesday that Steres will miss six to eight weeks with a transverse process fracture. The timetable means Steres may not make it back before the end of the MLS regular season.

Steres was injured in the second half of the Galaxy's 1-1 draw with Seattle on Sept. 10. Steres has made 21 starts this season for the Galaxy and scored three goals. He was originally signed in December 2015 and the 26-year-old has made 52 career appearances for Los Angeles.
