Indiana teen charged as adult in crash that killed 2 sisters

FRANKFORT, Ind. (AP) - Central Indiana authorities say a 17-year-old girl charged with reckless homicide was traveling in excess of 100 mph when her car spun out of control and crashed into a rural home, killing two young sisters who were inside.

The teen was charged Friday with 10 felony counts, including two counts of reckless homicide, in the July 13 deaths of 17-year-old Haleigh Fullerton and 9-year-old Callie Fullerton.

The (Lafayette) Journal & Courier reports she has been charged as an adult, but her attorney plans to appeal that decision.

The teen's bond was set at $12,000.

Court documents say she had opiates in her system and was driving 107 mph when she lost control of the car and it crashed into a Frankfort-area home, killing the two sisters and injuring their mother.
