3 charged in June fire that killed 2 Joliet women, infant
JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - Three people have been charged in connection with the deaths last month of two women and an infant girl in Joliet.
Will County prosecutors on Thursday said 18-year-old Manuel A. Escamilla and 18-year-old Eric J. Raya along with a 17-year-old boy each face six counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of arson. All three are from Joliet and already were in custody on unrelated offenses. Their bond in the murder case was set at $10 million.
Prosecutors say the three discharged a flare gun at the home, which resulted in a fire that killed 28-year-old Regina L. Rogers, her 11-month-old daughter Royalty Rogers and 29-year-old Jaquetta A. Rogers.
Online court records didn't list attorneys who could comment on behalf of the three suspects.
