The Latest: Officials identify driver killed in bus crash

QUARTZSITE, Ariz. (AP) - The Latest on a fatal bus crash in western Arizona (all times local):

5:30 p.m.

Officials have identified the bus driver killed in a rollover on Interstate 10 as a 55-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri.

Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Quentin Mehr says Donna M. Howard was partially ejected from the vehicle early Monday after losing control when its left front tire failed. She wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Mehr says the bus was being used by the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, Illinois.

Eight of the 13 passengers were taken to hospitals in Arizona and California, including two who were airlifted to a Phoenix hospital.

Mehr says all eight were treated and released from hospitals by Monday evening.

The Phantom Regiment said in a statement that the bus was shuttling the group's support staff, not performers, between shows in California and Arizona.

Authorities say a bus driver was killed and four passengers were injured in a rollover wreck on eastbound Interstate 10 in far western Arizona.

State Trooper Kameron Lee says the bus appeared to be a tour bus and was carrying a total of 14 people but that detailed information on the bus and its trip weren't immediately available.

The wreck occurred early Monday morning about 10 miles from the Arizona-California line.

Lee says details on the four passengers' injuries were immediately available but that initial reports didn't indicate the injuries were life-threatening.

Cause of the wreck is under investigation but Lee says initial reports indicate it only involved the bus.

The state Department of Transportation says westbound I-10 has reopened after being closed for over an hour.
