Heartland Blood Centers Teams Up With Chick-fil-A for 3rd Annual Market Wide Blood Drives

Aurora, IL (June 2017) - Chick-fil-A will team up with Heartland Blood Centers, Chicagoland's largest blood center, to give back to our donors for their generosity. To help replenish the blood supply during critical summer months surrounding the 4th of July Holiday, Chick-fil-A will be hosting a market-wide blood drive at every location offering every donor a certificate for a FREE chicken meal courtesy of Chick-fil-A! As an added bonus all donors will also receive a $10 Target gift card as a special thank you from Heartland. The Chick-fil-A partnership runs from Monday, June 26th to Wednesday, July 5th.

Your blood donation matters more than you think. Someone needs blood every two seconds and there is no artificial substitute for blood. Consider bringing a friend and saving lives together this summer. Your generous blood donation is the gift of life for someone in need.

"The summer months are an especially difficult time to maintain a sufficient blood supply as many donors are vacationing or spending time with friends and family. Unfortunately, patients do not get a holiday or vacation from needing blood and platelets. The need is constant," said Amy Smith, Director of Donor Recruitment for Heartland Blood Centers. During the summer months, Heartland Blood Centers needs 600 lifesaving donations daily.

It's easy to donate. The donation process takes about an hour and is both safe and comfortable. Blood donors need to be at least 17-years-old, 16 with written parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Most medications are accepted. Please bring photo identification such as a driver's license, state ID or passport.
