Chicago-area man sentenced in crash that killed 78-yr-old

ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) - A 24-year-old suburban Chicago man has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for causing a car accident killed a 78-year-old woman and injured another person.

The Kane County state's attorney's office said in a Monday statement that Paris T. Lisy agreed to plead guilty to two counts of aggravated DUI. A toxicology test indicated the Aurora man had ingested marijuana prior to the May 16, 2013, crash

Prosecutors say Lisy's car ran off the road and hit another car. That other car then struck the two victims. Mary Niemeyer, of Aurora, suffered major head injuries and died eight days later. The other person suffered a shattered leg bone.

Lisy will get credit for more than two years already served in Kane County jail.
